If mild discomfort develops during meditation, you do not have to change your posture immediately. You can first observe what you are actually feeling: where exactly do I notice it? Is it pressure, pulling, warmth, or tension? Does the sensation stay the same, or does it change? In this way, even an unpleasant physical sensation can become an object of your attention for a while. Meditation does not, however, mean having to endure pain. If the discomfort becomes stronger, feels sharp, or gives you the sense that the posture is not good for you, change it. You can move slowly and consciously, then continue meditating. Using a chair, choosing a different seated position, or lying down are all perfectly fine.
