2. Website data processing

This website uses no cookies and no tracking or analytics services. No external content is embedded for tracking or advertising purposes.

As part of the website's technical operation, STRATO processes server log data. This may include the IP address, date and time of access, pages or files accessed, browser type, and operating system. This processing serves to provide the website securely, reliably, and without errors.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of the website).

Server log data is stored in accordance with the hosting provider's policies and subsequently deleted or anonymized.

3. Contact via email

If you contact us by email, we process your details (sender address, message content) to handle your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contractual/pre-contractual communication) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in replying). Retention: Deleted after completion unless statutory retention applies.

4. App download via Apple App Store

Mowditate is provided through the Apple App Store. When you download, install, update, or potentially make in-app purchases, Apple processes data as part of its own services.

We have no direct influence over Apple's processing. Apple's privacy policy applies.

We do not receive payment details such as credit card or bank account information through the App Store.

5. Data processing in the Mowditate app

Principle: local and data-minimizing processing

Mowditate is designed so that personal app data is generally processed locally on your Apple devices.

We operate no own servers for storing your personal app, meditation, or health data and have no access to this data.

Mowditate uses no user accounts and no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Personal meditation data is not used for advertising, profiling, or tracking and is not sold.

Some features may access system services provided by Apple. These features are used only where required for the respective function and, where provided for by Apple, after you have granted the relevant system permission.

5.1 Apple Health (HealthKit) – optional

Mowditate may use Apple Health to store Mindful Minutes and, after you grant the relevant permission, read existing mindfulness data. Access is voluntary and limited to the permissions you grant in Apple Health.

Write access: Mowditate may save completed meditations as Mindful Minutes in Apple Health.

Read access: Mowditate may read existing mindfulness data from Apple Health to calculate and display features such as meditation history, statistics, and streaks directly on your Apple devices.

Health data read from Apple Health is not transmitted to us or to our own servers. We do not receive access to your health data.

Purpose: Documenting and locally displaying your mindfulness and meditation activity, and calculating history, statistics, and streaks.

Legal bases: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent) and, where health data is concerned, Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR (explicit consent).

Storage: Apple Health entries are stored within Apple's Health environment on your devices and may be synchronized through your personal Apple ecosystem if you have enabled the relevant Apple features.

No other uses: Apple Health data is not used for advertising, marketing, profiling, or tracking, is not sold, and is not shared with advertising networks or data brokers.

Withdrawal and deletion: You can change or withdraw Apple Health permissions at any time in Apple Health settings. You can manage and delete entries stored in Apple Health there. Data stored locally by Mowditate can be removed through the relevant app functions or by deleting the app. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

If Mowditate uses additional health categories in the future, access will take place only within the Apple Health permissions required for that purpose. These privacy notices will be updated for material changes.

5.2 Notifications (local)

Mowditate may use local notifications at your request, for example for meditation reminders. Notifications are scheduled through your Apple device's system functions. Mowditate operates no notification server and does not transmit the content of these local reminders to us.

You can change or withdraw notification permission at any time in your device's system settings.

5.3 Mowditate+ and in-app purchases

Optional purchases and subscriptions for Mowditate+ are processed through the Apple App Store and Apple's StoreKit infrastructure. Apple handles the actual payment processing. We do not receive credit card, bank, or other payment details.

On the device, Mowditate processes the purchase or subscription status information required to provide the features you acquired. Where Apple processes personal data in connection with purchases or subscriptions, Apple's privacy policy applies.

5.4 Apple Music

When you use the relevant feature, Mowditate may use Apple's interfaces for Apple Music or your media library to select music within the app and play it during a meditation. Access is limited to Apple's permissions and system functions.

Mowditate does not transmit your music selection or media library to our own servers. We do not create user profiles from this information or use it for advertising or tracking. Apple's privacy policy applies to data processing within Apple Music and related Apple services.

5.5 Apple Watch and Live Activities

On supported devices, Mowditate may provide features on Apple Watch and Live Activities on iPhone and Apple Watch. Information required for the relevant feature is processed within the Apple ecosystem. We operate no own servers for storing your meditation data and therefore have no access to your personal meditation or health data.

6. Recipients and sharing of data

STRATO AG: Website hosting and processing of technically required server data as part of hosting.
Apple: Operating system and device functions and services such as the App Store, StoreKit, Apple Health, and Apple Music.

7. Transfers to third countries

We do not transfer your personal app, meditation, or health data to our own servers or other systems operated by us outside the European Union or European Economic Area.

8. Retention period

App data: Locally stored data generally remains on your Apple devices until you delete or reset it in the app or remove the app or relevant data from the device.
Apple Health: Data stored in Apple Health is retained according to your settings and Apple's features. You can manage and delete it in Apple Health.
Email communication: Data from email requests is deleted after the request has been handled unless statutory retention obligations or other legal reasons require further storage.
Website: Server data is stored according to the hosting provider's policies and subsequently deleted or anonymized.

9. Your rights

Where we process personal data, you have the following rights under the applicable legal requirements:

• Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)

Please note that we cannot access app and health data stored exclusively on your devices. You can manage such data directly through Mowditate, Apple Health, or the relevant system settings.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of consent before withdrawal.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

10. Minors

Mowditate uses no user accounts and does not collect personal meditation or health data from users through its own servers. Where individual features require consent or system permission, the applicable legal requirements and Apple's age, family, and permission settings apply.

11. Changes to these privacy notices

We may amend these privacy notices if Mowditate's features, technical processes, or legal requirements change. The current version is published on the Mowditate website.
